History
Yasuda Kei joined Morning Musume in 1998 as a member of the second generation, along with Yaguchi Mari and Ichii Sayaka. In February 1999, Fukuda Asuka graduated from Morning Musume, so Yasuda was given Fukuda's lines in future performances of early songs.
In late 1999, Yasuda, Ichii Sayaka, and Goto Maki were the original members of Morning Musume's second subgroup, Petitmoni. Ichii graduated from Morning Musume in 2000, so Yoshizawa Hitomi took her place with Yasuda becoming Petitmoni's leader.
In late 2002, Yasuda announced her graduation from Morning Musume. She graduated in May 2003, at the end of Morning Musume's 2003 Spring concert tour. The c/w track to Yasuda's last single with the group was a Rock Version of "Never Forget", and the 13th track on Yasuda's last album with the group was dedicated to her graduation.
Yasuda remained in Hello! Project after she graduated, collaborating with Nakazawa Yuko and other Hello! Project artists on two of the Folk Songs series. Besides performing in united Hello! Project concerts, she has also sung choruses in songs, hosted Hello! Morning, and guest starred in several of Abe Natsumi's concerts. Outside of H!P, she has worked in several dramas and musicals.
In August 2007, she acted with Ayaka in the Otona no Mugicha play Chigaimasu Sisters.

Trivia
- Yasuda is skilled in several musical instruments, including the saxophone, flute, and the piano. She has made several appearances on TV and in concert accompanying herself or others.
- She attended Kimitsu Shogyo High School in Futtsu City, Chiba Prefecture, but dropped out to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. This impressed Tsunku and Hatake, since she had "real world experience" like original members Ishiguro Aya (a former college student) and Nakazawa Yuko (a former office lady).
- Worked at McDonald's before joining Morning Musume. ASAYAN showed footage of her working there, as her audition results were announced.
- Was given the Utaban nickname of Olga by Ishibashi Takaaki on the March 30, 2003 episode of Utaban, and was used similarly to Iida Kaori's nickame, Johnson. However, this was only used during this episode, and was never brought up again, although something similar would happen to then new member Michishige Sayumi months later.
