History

Umeda Erika joined Hello! Project as one of the fifteen Hello! Project Kids. In 2003, she was a member of the one-shot unit ZYX and released two singles with the group before it went inactive.

Umeda was one of the seven Hello! Project Kids who weren't placed in Berryz Koubou. In 2005, those seven members would form °C-ute. While it was originally Umeda who was to be the group's leader (because she was the oldest), she did not feel responsible for the task, and so the leader position was passed to Yajima Maimi (who was second oldest).

She was a member of Little Gatas and Mix Gatas and she was added to Gatas Brilhantes H.P. in April, 2007.
