Toi et Moi is Amuro Namie's 12th single, and was the theme song to the Japanese release of Pokémon: The Movie 2000 (although released in 1999). The song appears exclusively on this single. Toi et Moi reached #3 on Oricon charts and charted for 11 weeks, 4 weeks of which were spent in the Top 30. This single sold 272,110 units, and unlike all of Namie's previous singles did not make it to the top singles chart. 'Toi et Moi' means 'You and I' in French. It is rumoured that Namie did not want to release this single, as she did not believe in the song's market-worthyness. Despite that, Toi et Moi is Namie's first J-Urban release and her first step away from idol pop into urban pop.
