Tezuka Osamu
From Wiki.theppn
Tezuka Osamu (手塚 治虫, November 3, 1928 - February 9, 1989), known in Japan as the God of Manga, was pretty much singlehandedly responsible for creating the almost obscene frenzy in Japan for manga and it's appeal beyond the "comicbook geek" as seen in the west. His works, which include Tetsuwan Atom and Jungle Taitei (known in the west as Kimba the White Lion, and supposed inspiration for Disney's "The Lion King"), have constantly set the standard for manga as well as anime for decades to come, and remain a powerful influence up to this day.
