Stand by me is the brilliant green's 15th single, and their first since 2002's I'M SO SORRY BABY. The song was used as the drama Tantei Gakuen Q's ending theme song. The single comes in two versions: a limited edition CD+DVD version and a regular version.

Music Video
The music video for Stand by me was directed by both Seki☆Ryuuji and The Brilliant Green. It shows the band performing within a cluttered room. Written on the back wall behind the band members are the words "the brilliant green" and "Stand by me". Occasionally the scene changes to show Kawase Tomoko sitting on a mat or with a double of herself in different clothing on a couch.
