Information

Sora is Hirahara Ayaka's fifth album. It was released after only two singles, CHRISTMAS LIST and Voyagers / Kokoro (of which Kokoro was a re-arrangement of the song Will from 4tsu no L, hence does not feature on this album). The albums theme is the sky, which according to Hirahara, "can mimic what is in people's hearts. The colour of the sky, the shape of its clouds, a cloudy sky, rain, lightening, snow." Furthermore, the album has an international theme to it, as, "the world is connected by the sky." The songs on this album have composers from six different countries of the world (America, Canada, Italy, Japan, Korea and Sweden). The album is to be released in two different versions; a first press edition and a regular edition. The first press edition features two bonus tracks; a live cover of Rosemary Clooney's Come on-a My House taken from her Live Tour 2006 "4tsu no L" at Nippon Budokan DVD released two months prior to the album release and a special "Ukulele ver." of Sora placed in the album as a hidden track. The song Shiawase was composed by André Gagnon and Matsui Gorou (the composers of her previous hit single Ashita) and Siciliana is an adaption on the classical piece by Italian composer Ottorino Respighi, much like how Jupiter was an adaption of a classical piece. Siciliana is part three of the third suite of Respighi's "Ancient Airs and Dances".
