SOMETHING 'BOUT THE KISS is Amuro Namie's 13th single, and was the CM song to KOSÉ Cosmetics' VISÉE product. This single was released in two versions; a 12cm version and an 8cm version. The 12cm version reached #3 on Oricon charts, charted for eight weeks and sold 253,500 units. The 8cm version reached #7 on Oricon charts, charted for eight weeks and sold 110,600 units. If the sales figures of both versions were combined, she would have sold a total of 179,670, which would have beat out Ayumi Hamasaki's A for the #1 position by about 6,000 copies.
