SMILE is L'Arc~en~Ciel's ninth album, coming out 3 years and 7 months after their previous album, REAL, was released. The limited first press edition is packaged in a digipak and includes DVD featuring live performances of a selection of their songs, the total running time being 60 minutes. The US version (Tofu Records) includes a bonus track.
This album reached #2 on Oricon and charted for 18 weeks, selling a reported total of 378,748 copies. It was the #35 album of 2004.
