Shiunji is Sasagawa Miwa's seventh major single (though her 10th in total). The song is a ballad dedicated to her home town of the same name. Six months earlier, the town disappeared during its merger with another town ten times the size of it, Shibata. This single was a limited edition single; which was only sold in the Niigata area (and had a limit of 2,000 copies to be sold). Despite this, the single actually charted on Oricon charts (reaching #191 and charting for one week).
