Seishun Amigo is Shuuji to Akira's first and possibly only single. This single reached #1 in the Oricon Weekly Singles Chart and is the #1 best-selling single of 2005 as well as the #3 single of 2006. Each song featured on this single is a song featured in a popular dorama; Seishun Amigo was the Nobuta wo Produce theme song, Colorful was the Dragon Zakura insert song, and Kizuna was the Gokusen 2 insert song. Colorful and Kizuna are sung solo by the actor featured in each specific dorama; (Yamashita Tomohisa sings Colorful, Kamenashi Kazuya sings Kizuna) and Seishun Amigo is a duet.
The first press version included an exclusive 12-page photo-booklet, though interestingly didn't include the Karaoke tracks. In 2005, the single sold 945,315 units and after 54 weeks on end in the Oricon chart it sold 1,621,222 units in total before dropping out of the top 200 (2006.11.27). It stayed for 12 weeks on the Top 10. The single was also released in Sweden, where it reached number 41 on the selling chart.
Amigo is Portuguese/Spanish for "friend".
