Ping Pung
From Wiki.theppn
Ping Pung is a four member Cantonese rock band based in Hong Kong. Their songs have an edge of hard rock untypical of music from Hong Kong, and their lyrics relate to teenagers. 'Ping Pung' does not mean anything in English, Mandarin or Cantonese, though according to the members of the band is has a fun sound to it. The band released a single album, Love & Hate, and released three singles from the album (Ngo Wa Si, Saat Ta Sei and their popular ballad Oi Si Jeui Daai Kyun Lei).

Information
Ping Pung was originally formed in mid 2003, and three of its four members were from pre-existing bands. Kary was originally from the nine member girl group Cookies, (which is similar to Japan's Morning Musume). She was renowned for being the one with the most talent and the best voice. Jerry and Jan originally had a band called Online.
Surprisingly for a Chinese band, the album's songs are completely produced by Ping Pung. This includes the arrangement, melody and lyrics (written by Jan and Jerry). Jan and Jerry also produce and write lyrics for other artists.
Apart from releasing their album, the band has also released a song called Gong Ching Cho (and also released a music video for this song). This song was later featured on the compilation album 2005 Love Songs Collection.
In early 2006, after Cookies dissolved, Kary released a solo album entitled With a Boy Like You; which followed the same rock vibe as Ping Pung's rock music. Given that she has continued to release solo music, no new music has been released since 2005 and that the band's official website no longer exists, it is fair to say that the band has disbanded.
