Ooki na Furudokei is Hirai Ken's 16th single. It is a cover of Henry Clay Work's 1876 song My Grandfather's Clock translated into Japanese. Track two is the English version of the song, and track four is a ballad to Hirai's (at the time) recently deceased dog. The song was featured in the TV program Minna no Uta for August and September of 2002. This single reached #1 on Oricon charts (Hirai's first #1 single) and stayed at that position for four weeks. As this single sold 667,210 copies in 2002 it became the #7 single of the year. This single charted for 35 weeks and sold a total of 772,233 copies.
