LUCY is Tsuchiya Anna's fifth single, and was used as the third opening theme song to the anime adaption of NANA. This single is also Tsuchiya's third NANA-related single, after rose and Kuroi Namida. Much like rose before it, LUCY features a sleuth of famous musicians. Chris Chaney (bassist for Jane's Addiction), Wes Borland (guitarist for Limp Bizkit) and Josh Freese (drummer for Nine Inch Nails) all feature on this single. This is in fact Josh Freese's fourth collaboration with Tsuchiya of this nature. The B-side better day is used as the English learning school ECC's CM song. This single was released just several weeks prior to Tsuchiya Anna's NANA-inspired concept album, ANNA TSUCHIYA inspi' NANA (BLACK STONES) and was also featured on this album.

Music Video
The music video was directed by UGICHIN. It features Tsuchiya with a band in the same light-decked room that the single promotional photos were taken in. Later in the music video Tsuchiya and the band are shown against a brick wall, and Tuschiya parodies Marilyn Monroe and Madonna.
