Lies is Koda Kumi's 23rd single, and the fifth release in the '12 Days of Christmas' release season. This song was both the ending theme for the Asahi TV show Adrena! Garage, as well as the Music.jp CM song. The cover art is meant to have a Chinese theme. Lies was limited to 50,000 copies. The single debuted at #2 on Oricon daily charts, but reached #7 on the weekly charts. Despite the general trend of the Koda Kumi limited singles charting for two weeks on the top 50, Lies did not. Because this single sold 46,989 copies in 2006, it became the #197 single of the year.
