- He began playing the guitar because he was fan of the guitarrist Okuda Tamio, member of Unicorn.
- He was 18 when his mother died. The song Tooku de.. included on Kobukuro's first indie album, Saturday 8:pm was inspired by her death. Years later Kobuchi composes the song Tsubomi, also inspired by her death.
- He worked as termite exterminator after he finish high school.
- He is commonly known as "Kobukuro's smaller one" (コブクロの小さいほう) .
- He is good at drawing. He has designed some of Kobukuro's covers and tour goods.
- He is fan of Mr. Children and BUMP OF CHICKEN.
