Information
Kim Sung Hee was part of a Korean girl group called KARA. She provided the main vocals for the group that debuted in March 2007. Sung Hee was thought of to be the reserved type, but she still got along with the other members. KARA, then, started working on their second album after awhile of being overshadowed by Wonder Girls and So Nyuh Shi Dae.
As the second album was close to being promoted, Kim Sung Hee graduated from Goo Jung High School and failed the college entrance exams. She and her parents had an agreement that she would be able to pursue her dream of singing while keeping up her grades. If her grades faltered, she would have to leave the group to focus on her studies more. Because of this, Kim Sung Hee's father and DSP Entertainment had made an agreement to allow Sung Hee to leave KARA and focus on her studies. The news devastated leader, Park Gyuri, fellow vocalist, Han Seung Yeon, and rapper and youngest of the group, Jung Nicole, because they have all grown closer to her. It is also said that because of the hectic schedule during pre-promotions for their second album, Sung Hee became stressed and she had health issues. This news has made a drawback in second album promotions in March 2008 ,and they have decided to make a mini-album in late July 2008. Sung Hee will also be replaced with 2 new members, making KARA a 5-member girl group. It is said that KARA will never be the same without her.
