Kakusei Heroism ~THE HERO WITHOUT A "NAME"~ is the 12th single by AN CAFE. The single comes in three different types. Type A is a limited CD+DVD that contains a DVD of the title song's PV and a slipcase. Type B is a limited CD+DVD that contains a DVD of a special music clip for the opening of DARKER THAN BLACK and jacket artwork reflecting that anime. Type C is the regular CD.

This is the first AN CAFE single that managed to make it into the top 10. The title song is used as the second opening theme song for DARKER THAN BLACK -Kuro no Keiyakusha- (DARKER THAN BLACK -黒の契約者-). All three songs are later found on Gokutama ROCK CAFE depending where is was released. The title track is on both the Japanese and the European editions, the b-side is only on the European edition, and the live track is on both the Japanese and European editions as a recorded non-live track.

This single reached #13 on the Oricon Charts and stayed for a total of twelve weeks.
