Jade Valerie is an American-born actress and singer-songwriter who is well-known throughout Asia. In 2001, Jade became the vocalist for the pop band, Sweetbox. She was with the band until 2007 when she started her solo career. Her first solo album, Out of the Box, was released in late 2007, and it's follow-up, Bittersweet Symphony, was released March 2008.

Jade was born on August 12th 1980 in San Diego, California. She was born to an American mother (of German andIrish descent) and a Filipino father. She was raised in Japan as a child, but as she grew older she returned to California.
Jade's first step into the entertainment business came around at the age of 3 when she was in a Japanese ramen commerical. At 7 she entered her first major audition for the Broadway Musical, Gypsy. At 17, she played the role of an HIV-positive teenager named Melanie on the American television show, Touched by an Angel. She has filmed guest appearances in the American television shows Rescue 911 and Touched By An Angel and has also appeared in several music videos, such as TLC's 'Unpretty' and Lenny Kravitz's 'American Woman'. Jade has also been known to star in television commercials for various companies, including Subaru.
At the age of 18, Jade joined the musical group Gemstone. The group was short lived, and soon disbanded.
In 1999, Jade met producer Roberto "Geo" Rosan, who invited her to join his upcoming musical group Sweetbox. The band had previously received success with former front woman Tina Harris in 1998 with the international hit single "Everything’s Gonna Be Alright". She joined the band in 2000, and her first album was "Classified".
