Ishii Rika is a Japanese pop singer. She began her career in 2000 under the name Peachy. In 2001 she joined Hello! Project as Ishii Rika (石井リカ) and later graduated in 2002. In 2003 she began to release music under her own name (石井里佳).

History

Ishii Rika debuted in October of 2000 under the name "Peachy". Her producer was former Princess Princess member Okui Kaori (now known by her married name, Kishitani Kaori).

In October 2001, Ishii transfered to the Up-Front Agency. She appeared regularly in the TV Tokyo mini-drama Shin Bishoujo Nikki which starred Fujimoto Miki. In November 2001, she participated in her first Hello! Project album, The Douyou Pops 1 Christmas to Fuyu no Uta Shuu, credited as 石井リカ.

Ishii's first concert performance was at Hello! Project 2002 ~Kotoshi mo Sugoizo!~ in January 2002 when she was introduced as a new member along with Fujimoto Miki and Satoda Mai. Ishii continued to appear in various Hello! Project releases, namely the Douyou Pops series, and was a member of the 2002 shuffle unit Odoru 11. In December 2002, after the release of Shinsaku Douyou Pops 1, Ishii Rika graduated from Hello! Project.

In May 2003, Ishii held her first live performance using her real name, 石井里佳.

In November 2006, she appeared as one of the main characters in the movie zoku.

  • She was given the Utaban nickname of "The Children Songs Lady" by Ishibashi Takaaki on the 2002.07.04 episode of Utaban.
