Hong Kong (香港), or officially Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (香港特別行政區,) is a special administrative region of the People’s Republic of China.
General Information
Located in south-eastern China and bordering the South China Sea, Hong Kong’s total area covers 1,092 sq km and is well known for Victoria Harbour, a natural deep-water harbour.[1] As of 2007, the population of Hong Kong was approximately 6.92 million.[2]
Cantonese and English are the two official language of Hong Kong though other forms of Chinese are also used in Hong Kong, with Mandarin Chinese (also known as Putonghua (普通話 ; literally common speech)) gaining increased currency in commerce.[3]
