Enabling Asian Fonts
This Wiki uses Kanji on many pages. If you see a bunch of question marks in the articles, you do not have these fonts installed and are not getting the full experience of this site. The good news is that most common operating systems have many languages and fonts built in, and it's just a matter of enabling them somewhere in the "Language" section of the system control panel. Below is a brief rundown of how to enable Asian fonts on your operating system.
Windows XP
Go to the Control Panel and open the Regional and Language Options. Navigate to the Languages tab and then check off the box that says "Install files for East Asian languages" in the "Supplemental language support" section . Press OK and Windows will setup the required files that will allow you to view Japanese, Chinese and Korean text (alongside your primary Windows language). If you installed or upgraded Windows off an installation CD, it might be needed to complete the process.
Apple
No setup should be necessary if you are running Mac OS X.
Linux
Many popular Linux distributions, including SuSE and Kubuntu, already have Asian fonts installed by default.
Arch Linux
Arch Linux, by default, does not. Install the ttf-arphic-uming and ttf-arphic-ukai packages with the following command: (NOTE: You must already be logged in as root)
# pacman -Sy ttf-arphic-uming ttf-arphic-ukai
