H is the 27th single released by Hamasaki Ayumi. It reached #1 on Oricon charts and charted for 24 weeks. As this single sold a total of 1,000,260 units in 2002, it became the #1 single of the year. The single has sold 417,870 copies on its first week and in total, this single has sold 1,016,000 units. There are five variations on this single: white, pink, blue, green and a re-released edition that comes in a digipack limited edition with the four covers and gold disc. independent was used as the image song for Nippon Television Network's THE BASEBALL 2002, July 1st was used in a VISEÉ commercials promoting cosmetics, and HANABI was used by TU-KA in a commercial for promoting "funstyle" model cellphones.
