Fukuda Asuka was one of the five original members of Morning Musume, and was one of the lead vocalists along with Abe Natsumi. She graduated from the group on April 18th, 1999, making her the Morning Musume member with the shortest tenure at only a year and a half. She stated the reason she graduated was to focus on her studies, although she dropped out of high school not long after her graduation.
