"fairyland" is the 36th single released by Hamasaki Ayumi. The title track had three tie-in's: the opening theme song for Music Fighter for the month of August 2005, the Supootsu Uru Gusu" TV theme song, and the Kameria Daiyamondo CM song. It was released in both a CD Only format and a CD+DVD format. The single reached #1 in the Oricon charts and stayed on the charts for a total of thirteen weeks. The single sold 316,663 copies in 2005 and became the #25 single of the year.
The song "fairyland" also appears on the "(miss)understood" album as track #14 and the "A BEST -WHITE-" album as track #12. The Bright Field Mix of the song was remixed by Izutani Takahiro.

Music Video
The music video was directed by Takeishi Wataru. In the video, you see Ayumi having a great time with her friends, but near the end, their "Fairyland" burns down by an accident (a candle fell). Her friends leave the scene, though Ayumi stays, staring sadly at the burning homes.
