D[di:] (でぃー) is a Japanese rock musician, illustrator, novelist, and comic book artist.

Information

D[di:] first attended Tama Art University and studied in the Oil Painting Department. She modeled briefly in Womens Magazines but then dropped out of University and pursued her career in illustration and writing. D[di:] debuted in 2000 with her first comic called Fantastic Silent. She released her sophomore comic Kigurumi, which was labeled a Novel-Comic and gained acclaim for starting a new literary genre. Other than comic books D[di:] has dabbled in music releasing Dahlia (駄利亜), which peaked at #95 on Oricon, Fire Star Man, and Shiroi Kakera which peaked at #159. In 2004 she was on the cover of AERA magazine and in Japan she holds art gallery exhibitions of her work and has lent her talents to the monthly Gothic Lolita fashion magazine KERA by creating original comic strips for them. She was also the illustrator for the 2003 film Josee, the Tiger and the Fish.

In addition to being an illustrator and comic book writer, D[di:] is also active in fashion design. She has collaborated with fashion designer Shinichiro Arakawa in creating an original shirt and ROKI UNIFORMS in creating a line of shirts inspired by Stanley Kubrick and his films. Their collaboration is called D[di:]×ROKI UNIFORMS, and their shirts are available on D[di:]'s official website as well as jetl.com, home of ROKI UNIFORMS. D[di:] sells some of her fashion creations and drawings in her online store located at her official website.
