Biography

Azama Mew was one of the female members of the idol dance group BB WAVES. She was with them from 1999 to 2000. In 2002, she auditioned and won the Miss Seventeen 2002 competition and was signed on to SEVENTEEN as one of their regular models right after the contest, where she did her debut modeling as Miss Seventeen. In 2003, she auditioned and got the role of Kino Makoto/Sailor Jupiter in the sentai series Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon (PGSM). This is her most popular and only role she has had. Contrary to her role in PGSM, which is tomboyish, in reality she is very girlish and demure.

Currently she doesn't have any acting jobs. As of late 2006, Mew graduated from Seventeen and has become a regular model of Non-no, which is under the same company as Seveenteen and targets a more older audience. She also previously modeled for Pinky, which is also from Shueisha, only for a while for 2006.

She won two modeling titles. Miss Seventeen for SEVENTEEN in 2002 and 38th Non-no Modeling Contest Grand Prix in 2006 for Non-no
