Atarashii Mizu is Nichika's third single, and is the lead-in single before their debut album. The B-side is an electronica remix of a song appearing on their debut album, Nichika. The single did not chart on Oricon charts.

Music Video
The music video was directed by Shiga Takumi (志賀匠). It shows Miyamoto Issui standing against a brown screen, as her hair grows itself. The hair begins to form a sea, and in the sea an egg falls from a nest in the sea and falls towards a nest of different eggs. When the eggs hatch, the odd looking bird is shunned by the others and is forced away. The music video focuses on this bird trying to find another animal like it. All the animals in the video are represented by painted hands (for example, elephants, giraffes, crabs).
