Animerica Extra

Animerica Extra was a monthly shojo manga magazine published in North America by VIZ Media. It was VIZ's first monthly manga anthology magazine. The magazine is the sister magazine to Animerica, which mainly contained current anime news (much like Newtype magazine) and some manga. The first issue of Animerica Extra was released in 1999.
When the magazine debuted it had a mix of shojo and shonen manga series. As the years progressed and by 2003 the magazine had became shojo based, and it's shonen titles such as Video Girl Ai were removed. The magazine was then soon cancelled on December 17th 2004.
A year later VIZ's second shojo-based manga anthology was released: Shojo Beat, a female version of VIZ's mega-popular Shonen Jump.
