Amane Kaoru is a fictional character for the movie and drama Taiyou no Uta. In the drama she is played by singer/actress/model Sawajiri Erika and in the movie version she was played by YUI. YUI sang the theme song for the movie, "Good-bye days" and released the single under the name YUI for Amane Kaoru. For the drama version the theme was sung by Sawajiri Erika, as Amane Kaoru, entitled "Taiyou no Uta".

Information

Kaoru was a street musician. She had a genetic disorder called Xeroderma pigmentosum or "XP" for short. The disorder disables the skin's ability to fix mutations, thus Kaoru must avoid sunlight and could only go outside at night time. Not only that, but the type of the disease that Kaoru had also affects the brain, and thus she had been told that she may not live beyond 20. Kaoru dreamed of becoming a musician, and plays her guitar and sings on the street at night. She sent her audition tapes to several record companies, but none of them accepted her.
