Biography

Their visual appearance is intentionally humorous and often along the line of some specific 'theme' be it Vampires, Pirates, Japanese/Chinese Mythology, and more. Not only did they perform songs at lives, but they would also often perform various comedy skits as well.

Although Aikaryu went through many lineup changes through out the years, Kaworu and Uli, and Teru were main members, and the ones who performed longest with the band. The band was originally formed around Uli, however.

Composition for many of Aikaryu's songs were done by the guitarist, Teru, but other members also composed some songs as well. Likewise, almost all lyrics were written by Kaworu, while the song FIGHT was completely written by Teru.

Aikaryu joined Kyoto-based label CROW MUSIC in August 2003.

On March 20, 2006, Aikaryu encountered an accident on their way home from a live. Kaworu only recieved light scratches and bruises and was immediately dismissed from the hospital, but the rest of the members were hospitalised. Uli suffered two broken legs, Shagrath and a staff member Sano suffered skull injuries, and Teru and Daiki suffered deep bone bruises, chest pains, and the like. Live for most of the rest of the year were canceled as the band members recovered in the hospital.

In December, Teru who had recovered fairly quickly, announced that he would be participating in HIZAKI grace project on guitar. Later in the month and in the beginning of January, the band also held four lives, although Uli was not fully recovered.

Months passed without anymore lives or news, and then on April 29, 2007, the announcement came -- Aikaryu would disband, due to ULI not fully recovering from injuries sustained in a car accident the year before and Aikaryu as a band felt they could not move on without him.

After 7 years of activity, Aikaryu disbanded on July 15, 2007 at their Kyoto Arc Deux live.
